This policy applies to the website at tipsandknowhow.com and to email sent to the address published on it. It describes what actually happens on this site, not a set of practices borrowed from a larger operation.
What is not collected
The site is a set of static pages. Reading it does not create a record tied to you here. Specifically, there are no user accounts and no logins, no newsletter or mailing list, no comment system, no contact form, no analytics package of any kind, no tracking pixels or beacons, no social media embeds or share widgets that phone home, and no cookies set by this site itself. The one piece of third-party code in these pages is Google's advertising script, which is dealt with in the advertising section below. Nothing on these pages asks for your name, your address, your phone number, or your payment details, and nothing here has any use for them.
Email you send to us
Writing to contact@tipsandknowhow.com means your email address, your name if you sign one, and whatever you put in the message arrive in a mailbox. That correspondence is used to reply to you and to act on what you raised, such as fixing a page you flagged.
It is not added to any mailing list, not used for marketing, not sold, and not passed to anyone for their own purposes. Messages stay in the mailbox so that a thread can be picked up later, and you can ask for yours to be deleted. Email is carried by ordinary mail providers on its way to us, which is worth remembering before sending anything sensitive by that route.
Hosting, delivery, and Cloudflare
These pages are served through Cloudflare. Delivering a web page requires the network handling the request to process technical information about it, and Cloudflare may log standard data of that kind, including IP address, browser and device details sent by your browser, the address requested, referring page, and the time of the request. That processing supports delivery, performance, and protection against attacks and abuse, and it happens under Cloudflare's own privacy terms as the provider of that infrastructure.
No analytics dashboard is built on top of it, no visitor profiles are assembled from it, and it is not used to identify individual readers or to target anything at them.
Advertising
This site participates in Google AdSense, and the AdSense script is present in these pages. An earlier version of this policy promised that it would be updated before any ad code went live, and this section is that update. For the moment the script is all there is: until Google approves the site and ads begin serving, it places no advertising, and the pages carry none.
Once ads serve, the position changes in a specific way. Google and its partners act as third-party vendors, and they use advertising cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. That includes showing you ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other sites, which is what personalized advertising means in practice.
You have two levers over that. Personalized advertising from Google can be switched off at Google's Ads Settings, and aboutads.info/choices lets you opt out of personalized ads from other participating vendors in one pass. The cookie policy covers the cookies themselves and how your browser can refuse them.
If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, personalized advertising will run only with your consent, collected through a Google-certified consent management platform. That prompt will appear when ads begin serving, not before, because until then there is nothing to consent to.

Guides link out to manufacturers, retailers, standards bodies, and other publications where those sources are useful. Those sites are run by other people under their own privacy practices, which are frequently less restrained than the ones on this page. Once you follow a link away from tipsandknowhow.com, what happens next is governed by the site you land on.
Children
This site is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the only route for personal information to reach us is the contact address, a parent or guardian who believes a child has written in can ask for the message to be deleted, and it will be.
Making a request about your data
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Those rights are described here as a matter of fact rather than as a certification of compliance with any particular regime.
In practice the request is simple, because correspondence is the only personal information this site ever holds. Write to contact@tipsandknowhow.com from the address you originally used, say what you want done, and an email thread can be confirmed or deleted. Requests about the technical logs generated by delivery infrastructure are best directed to Cloudflare, which controls that data.
Changes to this policy
This page is updated in place when the facts change, with the date at the top revised to match. Material changes, such as the arrival of advertising or any measurement tool, will be described here before they take effect rather than after. Questions about any of it go to contact@tipsandknowhow.com.
