Who checks it
Every guide is edited by Sam. Guides are drafted with AI. Sam reads and reviews every guide and edits and corrects anything wrong: facts, writing, measurements, product names, images.
Sources
A figure that depends on an outside fact comes from the body that sets or measures it: a government agency, a university extension service, or the manufacturer's own documentation. Those sources are listed at the end of each guide. If a number cannot be traced, it does not appear.
Numbers and prices
Quantities, sizes and times are stated as numbers. Prices are given as bands rather than single figures, because they change by store and season.
Safety and limits
Guides stop where a job turns structural, electrical, gas or plumbing beyond simple maintenance, and say to hire someone qualified. Nothing here is legal, financial or medical advice.
What never runs
- Staged personal experience: no invented tests, renovations or kitchens.
- Invented evidence: no made-up statistics, anonymous studies or expert quotes.
- Paid placement: no sponsored guides, and ads have no say in what a guide recommends.
Corrections and dates
Errors are fixed on the page. A guide's updated date changes only when the fix changes what the guide tells you; adding a link or fixing a typo does not count. Report one to contact@tipsandknowhow.com with the page address and the line in question.
